SEMARANG – The Bachelor of Nursing Program, together with the Professional Nursing Program, Department of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), underwent an accreditation site assessment conducted by the Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes) from August 24 to 26, 2026, at the UNDIP Faculty of Medicine campus in Tembalang.
The site assessment is an important part of the quality assurance process and provides an opportunity for the Bachelor of Nursing Program to evaluate and continuously improve the quality of its nursing education.
The assessment was conducted by three LAM-PTKes assessors: Prof. Dr. Christantie Effendy, S.Kp., M.Kes.; Dr. Erfina, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep.; and Ns. Fitra Pringgayuda, M.Kep., Ph.D.
The opening session was attended by the Rector of UNDIP, represented by the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Ir. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T.; Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. dr. Yan Wisnu Prajoko, M.Kes., Sp.B., Subsp.Onk(K); Head of the Institute for Educational Development and Quality Assurance (LP2MP), Prof. Anis Chariri, S.E., M.Com., Ph.D., Akt.; Secretary of the UNDIP Board of Trustees, Dr. Untung Sujianto, M.Kes.; as well as leaders and members of the academic community of the Department of Nursing, Faculty of Medicine, UNDIP.
In his remarks, Prof. Heru emphasized the importance of external evaluation in complementing the continuous quality improvement efforts undertaken internally by the university and its study programs. He noted that the quality of individual study programs is a key factor in determining the overall quality of a university.
“Strengthening study programs is a key factor in determining the quality of a university. Over time, we have continuously made improvements internally. However, regardless of our efforts to develop high-quality study programs, what may appear satisfactory from an internal perspective can still reveal areas for improvement when evaluated externally,” Prof. Heru said in his remarks on Monday, August 24, 2026.
He further explained that the external perspective provided through the accreditation process gives study programs an opportunity to receive an objective assessment while identifying areas that can be further strengthened and developed.
Similarly, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Yan Wisnu, expressed the Faculty’s openness to the evaluation process and to feedback from the assessment team.
“We consider every piece of feedback, assessment, and recommendation provided by the assessors to be an important part of our institutional quality evaluation and development process,” Prof. Yan Wisnu said.
Over the three-day assessment, the assessors evaluated various aspects of the implementation of the Bachelor of Nursing Program and the Professional Nursing Program in accordance with the applicable LAM-PTKes accreditation instruments and standards. The assessment forms part of the external quality assurance mechanism designed to evaluate the quality of study program delivery in a comprehensive and objective manner.
For the UNDIP Bachelor of Nursing Program, the site assessment represents not only an essential stage in the accreditation process but also an opportunity to reflect on its educational practices and performance. Feedback and recommendations from the assessors are expected to provide a basis for maintaining practices that have been effective while further strengthening areas that require continued development.
Through this accreditation process, the UNDIP Bachelor of Nursing Program reaffirms its commitment to continuously advancing high-quality nursing education that is responsive to developments in science, the needs of society, and the evolving demands of healthcare. [AN]
